After Hours Rome Catacombs Tour with Capuchin Crypts

What a great tour!

Fiona, our guide was excellent. The Capuchin Crypts were truly something to be seen. I especially enjoyed the Catacombs tour which Sister Helena narrated from a biblical perspective.

Great trip!

Fiona was our guide and we had a great time! By far our whole group of 7 favorite was the catacombs. We had Sister Lydia as our guide, she and Fiona gave us a very informative and unique tour. 10/10 would do again.

Great tour

FEDERICA was a great guide! She was very personable and friendly . Answered all our questions and even gave us tips where her favorite places to eat as a local and native Roman. The tour itself was great too! The chapel of bones is spooky but is art at the same … amazing ! Then we go in a tour bus to outside the city walls (about 20min ride) to the crypt which is basically an underground cemetery. There are no longer bodies or bones there but you can see the tombs. It was my first time seeing a crypt so was very interesting and have a new perspective on how ancient people lived and were buried during those days. Highly recommend the tour!

The depths of Rome!

This tour provides a whole different perspective to the history of early Roman Christians. We especially loved the tour of the Catacombs and the nun from the order of St. Mary who described the burial practices and ancient art was wonderful. Arvin and Pia, our tour guides, made the experience fun and filled in lots of details.

Catacombs/Crypts

The Catacombs tour and our tour guide was awesome. The Crypts was okay and in hindsight could have done without.

Unique History of Rome

A wonderful experience!!! This tour is very special. To begin, it was a perfectly timed tour. My family and I finished our day of sightseeing above ground before heading below ground just prior to dinner time. The catacombs were incredible. The specific catacomb on this tour was unique in that it contained preserved art from over 1000 years ago as well as some of the first depicted Christian iconography from the New Testament. You do not have to be religious to appreciate the history and wonder of the catacombs. In addition to the location our tour guide Silvia made sure we all had a wonderful time. She kept us on schedule to maximize our tour and provided us both historical knowledge of the catacombs as well as recommended food to try while in Rome. This tour was excellent!

Very informative, interesting and fun

I very much enjoyed this tour, which I found to be as advertised. Our tour leader, Silvia, was amazing- funny, efficient and knowledgeable. The museum at the start of the capuchin cryptic was not that interesting but the rest of the tour was fascinating. I especially appreciated the tour of the catacombs, which was led by a nun from the convent. Lastly but not least, our bus driver was fantastic! Safe, calm and did his best to keep us out of the rain.

So Interesting!

Our tour guide was absolutely fabulous! She gave lots of good info and even shared the best gelato places! The catacombs portion was led by one of the sisters who takes care of the catacombs and she was so loving about it all. A friend said not to miss this tour and I’m so glad I listened!
